What I'm building
An audit, done like a client job
A real neighbourhood café's website, treated exactly like a paying client: crawl it, find the gaps, and hand over a prioritised plan — not a 40-page report nobody reads.
Every finding gets a why, an impact, and a difficulty rating.
Why this project
Small business, big lesson
Local businesses have the least time and the most to gain from SEO. If I can make a café visible, I can make anything visible — and the discipline transfers to every other channel.
This is the case study (Local SEO café) being worked in public, first.
Done so far
What's in the lab
Crawl & indexation check
Which pages exist, which are indexed, and what's blocking the rest.
Keyword & intent map
Every query a café should win, bucketed by intent and scored by value.
On-page scorecard
Titles, headings and meta audited against the intent map.
Google Business Profile review
Categories, photos, posts and citations — the local basics checked.
Quick-win list
Fourteen fixes ranked by impact versus effort, ready to ship.
What's next
On the bench
Ship the quick wins
Implement the highest-impact on-page and technical fixes from the list.
Content briefs
Write SEO-shaped briefs for the pages that close the remaining gaps.
Local landing page draft
Draft a neighbourhood landing page that owns the map pack queries.
